Langelihle Film Productions ™

Langelihle Film Productions has been on existence since 2001, registered by Thulani Mbatha. Langelihle Film Productions landed its first contract in 2011. Between that period and today, 14 films has been produced between January 2011 and March 2013 for Mzansi Magic. All the movies are produced by Thulani Mbatha. Thulani Mbatha started off as a stage actor in 1996. Later he directed, choreographed and produced number of stage plays that were funded by the department of Health, Education and Arts and Culture. In 2000 he went to train at Penguin Films as an assistant director when they were filming "KeNako" and "Khululeka" in 2000 and 2001. In 2002/3 he was also trained in Morula Productions as a floor manager doing Generations, He also was trained by the Word of Mouth as a floor manager doing Muvhango in 2003. In 2004 he joined RHRU of Wits University and studied Research in Social Anthropology.

Thulani published his paper on Migrant Man in University of Stellenbosch in 2005. In 2008 he was offered an opportunity of producing his first movie by Gauteng Film Commission (GFC), he called Vusi Twala who had just finished his own film called Mamezala, together they made the film called "The Ring" in which Thulani was an executive producer and a lead actor. The Ring was written and directed by Vusi Twala. Those two movies ("Mamezala and The Ring") awarded Seleke Communications (Vusi Twala's company) an opportunity to produce films for etv (eKasi Our Stories). Thulani was an associate Producer of 16 movies made for eKasi Our Stories. Currently Langelihle Film Productions is producing a documentary about a South African and International boxing icon Jacob "Baby Jake" Matlala.
